Golspie loch fleet areas, 14/05/05 |
There is a cliff yielding fossils on this beach as well as the boulders found on the beach. Fossils found included bivalves, tree, coral and ammonite. The kimmeridge clay in the cliff is very waterlogged and soft so care fossils must be exhumed carefully. The exposed cliff layer is approximatley 2m thick and 20m in length.
Areas of exposed kimmeradge bedrock also are also present below low tide mark.
